Our story

Heartland State Bank was founded in 1903 and has served the region ever since. We were chartered in 1903 in Cedar Rapids by a co-op of corn farmers. They wanted a bank that would lend against a handshake. That handshake is now in writing, but the philosophy is the same.

Today we serve more than 381,000 customers across 3 branches.
